><p><b>CHARTER and BYLAWS<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Sunnyarts Neighborhood Association<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>ARTICLE I<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>TERMS AND DEFINITIONS<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Section 1. <\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Name.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The association was formed in 2005, and is known as the\u00a0 Sunnyarts Neighborhood Association.\u00a0 The Sunnyarts Neighborhood Association is officially registered as a neighborhood Association with the city of Sunnyvale, California.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Section 2. <\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Territory.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Sunnyarts Neighborhood Association is located in the City of Sunnyvale, County of Santa Clara, State of California, in the 94087 zip code and includes the following streets:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rembrandt Drive<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Crescent Avenue (east of the Sunnyvale East Channel waterway canal)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Renoir Court<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Robbia Drive<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Robbia Court<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Schubert Drive<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chopin Drive<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rousseau Drive<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Verdi Drive<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sargent Drive<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Van Dyck Drive<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Van Dyck Court<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>ARTICLE II<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>PURPOSE\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The purpose of this Association shall be to provide a venue for the expression of the desires of the people living within the Sunnyarts Neighborhood Association boundaries and supports the following goals:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><b> <\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To enhance community spirit, cohesiveness, and participation within our association boundaries.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><b><\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To organize annual community events to facilitate the goals listed in item 1,\u00a0 such as Pot lucks, National Night Out activities, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><b><\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To offer educational opportunities for our residents to learn about city programs that are a benefit to our residents.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><b><\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To organize neighborhood disaster response education, preparedness, and planning.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li><b><\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To keep neighbors informed regarding items that may impact their daily lives such as traffic interruptions, crime notifications, building plans, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li><b><\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To organize neighborhood charitable event drives to benefit others.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li><b><\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To manage our neighborhood email list and communication forums.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"8\">\n<li><b><\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To generate, through fund-raising activities, revenue for the purpose of enhancing the quality of life in the area.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"9\">\n<li><b><\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To facilitate and maintain an adequate line of communication between the City of Sunnyvale and the residents of our community.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><b>ARTICLE III<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>MEMBERSHIP and VOTING<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Section 1.<\/b> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Membership.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All adults over 18 living or owning homes located within the boundaries of the Sunnyarts Neighborhood Association<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Section 2. <\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dues.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Membership is free to all households located within the boundaries of the Sunnyarts Neighborhood Association.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Section 3.<\/b> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Voting.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each adult over 18 living in households located within the boundaries of the Sunnyarts Neighborhood Association shall have one (1) vote.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Section 4.<\/b> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Voting Method.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Voting may be done through any currently accepted methods chosen, including polls set up within our member Google Group Pages.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>ARTICLE IV<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>OFFICERS\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Section 1.<\/b> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Elected Officers.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The positions of President \/ Chairman, and if needed Secretary, and Treasurer shall be filled by volunteers living within the boundaries of the Sunnyvale Neighborhood Association, or via election in the case of more than one person wanting to fill the same position at any given time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Section 2.<\/b> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Term of Office.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The term of office shall be for at least one year beginning at the time of election. The ideal term will be two years following the calendar year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Section 3.<\/b> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vacancies.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the event that an office becomes vacant, the remaining Officers may designate a temporary substitute to serve the remainder of the term.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Section 4.<\/b> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Subcommittees<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Subcommittees shall be organized as needed on an ad-hoc, volunteer basis to deal with relevant issues as they arise (ie: assistance with party planning, neighborhood security, etc.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Section 5.<\/b> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Compensation.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Officers shall not receive any salaries for their services.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Section 6. <\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Duties of Chairman. Current Chair: <\/span><\/i><b><i>Namrata Srivastava Patil<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Chairman shall coordinate activities of the Association, approve and sign all outgoing Sunnyarts Neighborhood Association correspondence, and approve all newsletters, flyers, web postings, and external email. The Chairman has the authority to open, execute, and manage a bank account on behalf of the Sunnyarts neighborhood association.
